Cemented carbide has a series of excellent properties and a wide range of applications, and its application areas are expanding over time. The main applications are as follows:
Tools: Cemented carbide can be used as various tools. The amount of cemented carbide used for tools in my country accounts for about one-third of the total output of cemented carbide, of which about 78% is used for welding tools and about 22% is used for rotary tools. However, cemented carbide used for CNC tools only accounts for about 20% of cemented carbide used for rotary tools. In addition, there are cutting tools such as integral cemented carbide drill bits, integral cemented carbide small circular saw blades, and cemented carbide micro drill bits.
Geological mining tools: Geological mining tools are also a major use of cemented carbide. Cemented carbide for geology and mining in my country accounts for about 25% of the total output of cemented carbide, mainly used for impact drilling drill bits, geological exploration drill bits, down-the-hole drill bits for mining and oil fields, roller drill bits, coal mining machine picks, impact drill bits for the building materials industry, etc.
Molds: Cemented carbide used for various molds accounts for about 8% of the total output of cemented carbide, including tungsten carbide wire drawing dies, tungsten carbide cold heading dies, cold extrusion dies, hot extrusion dies, forming dies and drawing mandrels, such as long mandrels, spherical mandrels, floating mandrels, etc. In recent decades, the consumption of various cemented carbide rollers for rolling wire has increased rapidly, and cemented carbide for rollers in my country has accounted for 3% of the total output of cemented carbide.
Parts: There are many products made of cemented carbide as structural parts, such as rotary seals, compressor pistons, lathe chucks, grinder spindles, bearing journals, etc.
Wear-resistant parts: Wear-resistant parts made of cemented carbide include nozzles, guide rails, plungers, balls, tire anti-skid strips, snow shovels, etc.
High-pressure and high-temperature resistant cavity: The main use is to produce anvils and cylinders for artificial diamonds. Cemented carbide for anvils and cylinders has accounted for 9% of the total output of cemented carbide in my country.
