In the development of China’s cemented carbide industry, the country has given strong support, which has greatly promoted the development of the cemented carbide industry. Enterprises and investment institutions are also optimistic about the development prospects of the cemented carbide industry. The massive influx of capital from all walks of life has brought a stimulating effect to the cemented carbide industry, making it present unprecedented new hot spots and new dynamics. In terms of output: China’s cemented carbide output reached 39,200 tons in 2021, an increase of 2,400 tons from 2020, a year-on-year increase of 6.5%; in terms of market size: China’s cemented carbide market size reached 23.985 billion yuan in 2021, an increase of 2.485 billion yuan from 2020, a year-on-year increase of 11.6%. In 2022, the total import and export volume of cemented carbide blades was 4.124 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 2.84%. Among them, the export value of coated carbide blades was 1.346 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 26.38%; the export value of uncoated carbide blades was 622 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 5.42%. The total export value of carbide blades was 1.968 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 18.55%. The export value of blades showed an upward trend from 2020 to 2022, with an annual compound growth rate of 28.60%.
Benefiting from the strong support of relevant industry policies in recent years, my country’s cemented carbide and related industries have developed rapidly, the process of domestic substitution has been accelerating, and the domestic self-sufficiency rate has continued to rise. At the same time, the market competitiveness of domestic enterprises’ products has been significantly improved, and the export ratio has increased significantly. The good policy environment has ensured sufficient development space for enterprises in the industry. At present, my country implements a regulatory system combining “legal constraints, supervision by industry competent departments, and self-regulation by industry associations” for the cemented carbide and tool industry.
